Renewal of Ben Cherki's contract decides Al Ahly's stance on signing Ibrahim Adel

Al Ahly FC's position on signing Ibrahim Adel, a player from Nordjylland, during the upcoming Transfare period, depends on the developments in negotiations to renew Moroccan Achraf Bencharki's contract, which ends with the club at the end of the current season.

Ahmad Shobair has revealed in radio statements that Al Ahly FC's priority is to retain Ben Sharqi, who also wishes to continue his journey with the team. He noted that resolving the renewal of the Moroccan player's contract will determine the possibility of moving to sign Ibrahim Adel.

Shobeir said: "It has been rumored that Al Ahly FC want to sign Ibrahim Adel, and that Sayed Abdel Hafiz, a board member, is enthusiastic about him, but what I know is that the club's first option is to keep Achraf Bencharki."

He added that Ben Cherki's desire to continue does not mean that a renewal is assured, as negotiations will depend on financial details. He clarified that Al Ahly FC will not offer the Moroccan player the same salary he currently receives, despite the levels he is showing with the team.

He added: "If Ben Cherki renews his contract, Ibrahim Adel will not be present; if he does not renew, a player from Nordsjælland will come into the picture."

Al Ahly FC's confidence in Ibrahim Adel's abilities has diminished, as the club monitors his participation with his Danish team, where he is not a regular starter and sits on the bench in some matches.

He added that the reasons for the player's reduced participation may be linked to various factors, including language or culture, but he confirmed that the decisive factor in determining Al Ahly FC's position remains the fate of Ben Charki's contract. The file on Ibrahim Adel will be closed if the contract is renewed, while negotiations regarding him may resume if the Moroccan player departs.

Ibrahim Adel's link with Al Ahly FC is not new, as discussions about his potential transfer to the team have arisen during previous transfer windows, given the club's interest in strengthening their attacking options and benefiting from the player's technical abilities.

In terms of upcoming fixtures, Al Ahly FC are set to face Al Qanah on Wednesday evening in the 7th round of the Egyptian League at Cairo International Stadium, at 8 PM Cairo time.

After this match, Al Ahly FC will face Ugandan side Kitarra on Sunday, October 25, in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup Round of 32, having won the first leg 2-1.

The team will visit Modern Sport on Thursday, October 29, as part of the Egyptian League, in its quest to continue accumulating points and competing for top positions.
