Liverpool target Villarreal star at the request of Andoni Iraola

Liverpool are targeting a move for Alberto Moleiro, the attacking midfielder of Villarreal, in the upcoming transfer window to bolster their attacking options, according to "CaughtOffside".

The report indicated that Liverpool's interest in the 23-year-old Spanish player came at the request of manager Andoni Iraola, who is looking to bring in a creative midfielder to provide competition and a suitable alternative for Florian Wirtz.

Moleiro has impressed since his move from UD Las Palmas to Villarreal in the summer of 2025, having scored two goals and provided three assists in eight matches across all competitions this season. His ability to play in an attacking midfield role and on the wings offers additional flexibility that could benefit Liverpool.

However, completing the deal will not be easy as Villarreal value the player between €50 million and €60 million, and they refuse to negotiate for an amount lower than their financial demands.

Liverpool are not the only club interested in Molero, as Arsenal and Manchester City are also monitoring his situation, alongside links to FC Barcelona, Atlético, and Borussia Dortmund.

It remains unclear whether Liverpool will make a formal offer, but Villarreal's insistence on their financial valuation may force the English club to pay the required amount to finalize the deal in 2027.
