Michael Olise replaces Mbappé at Nike with huge deal

Nike has reached a sponsorship agreement with Frenchman Michael Olise, Bayern Munich star, to become one of the prominent faces promoting the American brand's football boots, according to Footy Headlines.

This move comes as part of Nike's efforts to compensate for Kylian Mbappé's departure, the star of Real Madrid, who recently surprised the sports community by ending his collaboration with the American company and joining the Swiss brand "On".

Signing Michael Olise is a notable step, especially as the French winger previously rejected sponsorship offers from major sports companies, preferring to maintain his freedom in choosing the boots he wears on the pitch.

The Bayern Munich star is known for his preference for the "Nike Hypervenom Phantom III" boots, despite their production ceasing in 2019, as he would resort to purchasing them online from various places around the world. He has also occasionally enlisted artists to add special touches to the design of his boots before wearing them in training and matches.

According to the report, Nike is planning to relaunch the "Hypervenom" shoe line in 2027, with Michael Olise at the forefront of its new campaign, while the company may stop producing the "Phantom" line.

The "Hypervenom" series first appeared in 2013 and was initially associated with Brazilian star Neymar. Nike is now looking to revive it through Michael Olise, who could become one of its standout stars in the football boot market in the upcoming period.

Despite the financial details of the agreement not being disclosed, the potential deal reflects Nike's confidence in Michael Olise's growing stature and its desire to give him a prominent role in its marketing strategy following Mbappé's departure.
