Doubts over Neuer's fitness ahead of Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig in Bundesliga
Doubts surround Manuel Neuer's participation with Bayern Munich against RB Leipzig in the upcoming Bundesliga clash on Saturday due to a foot injury.
Vincent Kompany, the head coach of Bayern Munich, has confirmed that Manuel Neuer's situation is still uncertain, explaining that he did not participate in training on Thursday, and that the coaching staff will assess his condition based on how he feels and his ability to return to training.
Kompany said: "Manuel Neuer did not train yesterday, so we need to see today how he feels and what the current situation is. I don't want to play doctor, but the injury is in the foot, not in the thigh or shoulder. It shouldn't take long, but we need to see if he will return tomorrow or next week."
Manuel Neuer missed Bayern Munich's match against Viking Stavanger, which ended in a 3-3 draw, due to injury. His status for the upcoming match against RB Leipzig will be determined close to the game, and if he remains unavailable, Jonas Oerbig will be ready to step in as goalkeeper.
