Hamza Abdelkarim's future sparks special discussion within FC Barcelona

Egyptian striker Hamza Abdelkarim is struggling to secure playing time with FC Barcelona's first team due to fierce competition for the forward position. This has opened up discussions within the club about his need to play more matches, according to the Spanish newspaper "Sport".

The newspaper explained that coach Hans Flick has several attacking options, primarily Raphinha, Gabriel Jesus, Anthony Gordon, and Dani Olmo, which limits the chances of the Egyptian player, who has only participated for 12 minutes during Barcelona's first 10 official matches this season, with 4 minutes against Rayo Vallecano and 8 minutes against Getafe.

Hamza Abdelkarim is 18 years old and is still adapting to FC Barcelona's playing style after joining the team last season. Despite having an official registration and a shirt number with Barcelona Atlètic, he has not yet participated with the reserve team, having moved directly from the youth team to training with the first team.

The Egyptian forward has confirmed, during the renewal of his contract with FC Barcelona until June 30, 2030, that he does not mind playing with the B team, emphasizing that his priority is to participate in matches, whether with the first team, the B team, or the Egypt national team. The Spanish newspaper noted that the club appreciates his positive stance, given that some players are not accepting the idea of returning to the B team.

Despite limited appearances, Flick considers the player in his plans and appreciates what he offers in training. However, competition makes it difficult to get playing minutes, and Hamza understands that training with first-team players gives him a chance to learn. Nevertheless, his main ambition remains to participate regularly, and he does not mind playing with Barcelona Atletic if necessary to maintain his competitive readiness.
