Arteta reveals the secret behind Arsenal's resurgence against Lille and clarifies the situations of Zubimendi and Hincapié
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager, expressed his satisfaction with the 3-0 victory over Lille in the UEFA Champions League, confirming that tactical changes and raising the players' technical level contributed to turning the tide of the match during the second half.
Arteta said after the match: "When we changed our tactical approach and put different players in the right spaces, the technical level increased, and we became a constant threat."
He added: "Thanks to the quality we possess, we were able to take advantage of the opportunities that came our way."
The Spanish coach explained that his instructions to the players at half-time focused on tactical aspects in attack and defense, as well as improving technical levels, saying: "We made some tactical adjustments, one in attack and the other in defense, and most importantly was raising the technical level."
He also emphasized the importance of improving performance in order to press and regain possession, adding: "When we raise our level, we become capable of pressing, regaining the ball, and playing inside the opponent's penalty area." He praised the players who finished the match, describing their performance as exceptional.
Regarding injuries, Mikel Arteta revealed that Martin Zubimendi's condition has improved, noting that Piero Hincapié's situation is also getting better, but his injury appears to be more serious, potentially sidelining him for several weeks, without specifying the exact duration of his absence just yet.
