Arteta turns Saka into a poacher inside the box
Spanish manager Mikel Arteta is working on developing Bukayo Saka's attacking style by encouraging him to take bolder positions inside the penalty area, which is beginning to reflect in his scoring rate, achieving the best levels of his professional career.
According to a report by the British newspaper 'Telegraph', Saka, who has spent eight years with Arsenal's first team since rising from the club's academy, has gone through various stages of development, with the current shift seemingly focusing on increasing his presence near the goal and capitalizing on opportunities from close range.
Bukayo Saka has scored four goals from open play this season from close range, indicating a shift in the nature of his attacking movements, as he has become more inclined to position himself inside the penalty area rather than just moving along the flanks and creating chances.
This development reflects Arteta's intention to make greater use of Saka's scoring instinct and his ability to exploit spaces in front of goal, in an attempt to enhance his attacking effectiveness and make him more influential in finishing attacks, alongside his usual roles in playmaking and dribbling.
