Pedri: We have a team capable of winning matches, and that’s why I was substituted
Pedri, the midfielder of FC Barcelona, spoke about his team's win against Galatasaray, praising the players' reaction in the second half and confirming that the team has enough attacking quality to score many goals, in comments made after the match.
Pedri explained about his exit from the pitch: "I was feeling pain in my stomach and I wasn't well, so it was better to ask for a substitution and let another player come in to give the team a boost."
He added about FC Barcelona's performance during the match: "I think we were rushing too much in the first half when trying to make the final pass. When the opponent takes the lead in such a crowd atmosphere, things become difficult, but I focus on the team's reaction; the second half was fantastic."
The coach explained what the team needed to improve its performance: "We had the ball, and we saw large spaces, but we were rushing the final pass. We needed to calm down a bit and push the attacking players forward, as when they have the ball in the attacking areas, they are decisive."
Pedri explained: "I think speculation is always there, but it is clear that we are capable of scoring a lot of goals. We have many quality players who also contribute from the bench; our squad is very wide and very strong, and that is already showing."
The coach concluded his statements by talking about the upcoming matches, saying: "We have very important matches ahead of us, the season is still in its early stages, but these matches are crucial, we need to enjoy them, and most importantly, achieve victory."
