Barrios scores second fastest goal for Atlético in UEFA Champions League

Pablo Barrios has made history for Atlético by scoring an early goal against Manchester United, becoming the second fastest goal in the club's history in the UEFA Champions League.

Opta reported that Barrios found the net just 47 seconds after the match kicked off between the two teams at the Metropolitano Stadium, as part of the second round of the group stage in the UEFA Champions League for the 2026/2027 season.

The goal came after Alex Baena passed the ball to Barrios, who slotted it into the net, taking advantage of Manchester United's defensive confusion at the start of the match.

Barrios' goal ranks second in Atlético's fastest goals in UEFA Champions League history, while Conor Gallagher holds the record after scoring against Real Madrid in March 2025, just 27 seconds into the match.
