Bayern Munich are targeting a move for Jules Koundé, the FC Barcelona defender, in the upcoming winter transfer window to strengthen their right-back position, with the German club believing they can help him regain his form and key role.

Christian Falk, a journalist for the German newspaper Bild, has reported that Jules Koundé is among Bayern Munich's targets, confirming what Sport published a week ago regarding the Bavarian club's renewed interest in the French player.

Bayern Munich are looking for a replacement on the right flank, despite having Konrad Laimer, Stanisic, and Sasha Boey. The club believes that Jules Koundé's international experience and ability to play as a right-back and centre-back make him suitable for the team's needs.

Bayern believe Koundé can regain his best form after his role diminished in FC Barcelona coach Hans Flick's plans, with Erik Garcia advancing ahead of him in the competition for the right-back position.

Bayern Munich's potential move is linked to the necessity of Sasha Boey's departure, who is considered one of the main candidates to leave the team, while the German club is also keeping an eye on Givairo Reijnders, the young full-back from Feyenoord.

In contrast, Jules Koundé is not currently thinking about leaving FC Barcelona, where his contract extends until June 2030. He is aiming to regain his starting role, and there is no confirmed information about an official offer or negotiations between the two clubs. FC Barcelona will only consider a significant financial offer.
