FC Barcelona renews Xavi Espart's contract until 2030

FC Barcelona has announced that it has reached an agreement with its young talent Xavi Espart, a player from the 'La Masia' academy, to extend his contract with the Catalan team until June 30, 2030. This move reflects the club's commitment to one of the most prominent graduates of its academy.

FC Barcelona has confirmed that the signing ceremony for the new contract will take place in the coming days at the club's offices, with Juan Laporta, the club president, in attendance. Xavi Espart will hold a press conference following the completion of the signing procedures.

The player made his way through the La Masia academy since joining in the summer of 2015, before reaching the first team and fulfilling his dream of appearing with FC Barcelona in March 2026, under the management of German coach Hansi Flick.

Xavi Espart made his first appearance for the first team during the match against Newcastle in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, which took place at St James' Park.

During the 2025-2026 season, the player featured in 6 matches with the first team, before becoming a full part of the FC Barcelona squad at the start of the 2026-2027 season.

On August 27, it was confirmed that Xavi Espart is officially part of the first team squad, continuing his journey with FC Barcelona during the current season.

The player has played 5 matches this season, scoring his first goal for FC Barcelona and providing two assists, continuing to attract attention during his start with the team.

Xavi Espart won the LaLiga title with FC Barcelona in the 2025-2026 season, marking his first trophy with the first team in his career.

The extension of the player's contract until 2030 is part of FC Barcelona's approach to retaining talents that have emerged from the 'La Masia' academy, as the club seeks to provide its young players with the opportunity to continue and develop within the first team.
