Officially.. FC Porto secures William Gomes with a long contract and a huge release clause
FC Porto have announced that they have reached an agreement with Brazilian winger William Gomes to renew his contract, which will keep him at the club until June 2031. This move aims to secure the future of one of the club's most promising talents.
The contract renewal comes after the impressive performances of the 20-year-old player, who has become a key figure in coach Francisco Ferreira's lineup. He scored 13 goals during 46 matches last season and contributed to FC Porto's victory in the Primeira Liga.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the new contract includes a release clause of €100 million, after the player's previous contract had a clause of €80 million, amid interest from several European clubs in securing his services.
FC Porto have signed William Gomes from Sao Paulo in January 2025 for €9 million for 80% of his economic rights, with the Brazilian club retaining 20% of any future transfer of the player.
