Porto fall to PSV Eindhoven and set a historic negative record in the Champions League
Porto suffered another defeat in the UEFA Champions League, losing at home to PSV Eindhoven by a goal to nil in the match that took place on Tuesday evening, as part of the third round of the group stage in the competition.
With this result, Porto has suffered their third consecutive defeat in the competition, experiencing a catastrophic European start, as the last time this scenario occurred was in the 1997-1998 season, when the team lost their first three matches in the UEFA Champions League.
Porto's defeat has seen them drop to 33rd place in the league standings, with no points to their name, complicating their task in competing for one of the spots qualifying for the playoff for the knockout stages.
In contrast, PSV Eindhoven have raised their points tally to four, moving up to 16th place and boosting their hopes of competing for qualification to the next round.
