Allegri: Absences are not an excuse and we must face Porto with a fighting spirit
Massimiliano Allegri, SSC Napoli's head coach, spoke about the upcoming match against FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League, emphasizing the difficulty of the opponent and the strength of their players, while stressing the need for his team to deliver a complete performance in order to achieve the desired result.
Allegri said: "Porto are a fierce team, and they have players with high technical quality. When we have the ball, we need to perform well, and when we lose it, we must defend better."
The Italian coach added: "Thinking about what happened and what will happen is not very helpful; the only thing we need to do is get onto the pitch and perform well. Absences should not be an excuse for us, and tomorrow's match must be approached with a fighting spirit and determination."
Allegri praised FC Porto's coach, Francisco Farioli, saying: "He is a young coach, and he has already achieved good results, and I believe he has the potential to build a great coaching career."
Napoli's coach discussed his team's fluctuating results in the league, explaining: "We are behind in the table, and we currently lack those small details that ensure us achieving results, and this fluctuation confirms that. We have to play tomorrow's match, then prepare for the clash against SS Lazio, and after that reach the break and try to recover as many players as possible."
