It seems that Paris Saint-Germain have let go of one of the top young defenders in Europe, as Frenchman Johan Gado has departed the Parisian club in search of greater opportunities for development. He is currently making a strong impression with Borussia Dortmund and has become one of the contenders for the "Golden Boy" award for the best young player in Europe.

Gado, born in 2007, has caught attention due to his strong physique, standing at 1.95 meters tall, alongside his speed and ability to move and defend forward impressively. According to data from the German league, the French defender recorded a top speed of 36.03 kilometers per hour this season, which is the second highest speed in the competition.

Despite Paris Saint-Germain's admiration for his abilities and the opportunity to train with the first team under Luis Enrique, the strong competition for the centre-back position, with Marquinhos and William Pacho present, has made his path to regular participation difficult. Therefore, Gado has decided to leave in 2024 to join Red Bull Salzburg for around €10 million, at the age of 17.

After two seasons in Austria, Gado has moved to Borussia Dortmund this summer for around €20 million, continuing the German club's successful policy of attracting talent from the Austrian league, similar to Erling Haaland and Karim Adeyemi.

Gado has earned the trust of coach Niko Kovac and has regularly featured in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. He has also managed to attract attention with the France U21 team. After his good performances against Estonia and Luxembourg, the young defender is now a candidate for a future opportunity with the senior French national team.

Despite some concentration errors, which sometimes stem from his over-reliance on his physical abilities, Gado continues to develop rapidly, and he could become one of the top defenders in Europe in the coming years, especially as he is still just nineteen years old and is contracted to Dortmund until June 30, 2031.
