Dortmund moves to extend Kobel's contract as goalkeeper decides on future

Borussia Dortmund are planning to start talks with their Swiss goalkeeper Gregor Kobel regarding a contract extension, amid indications that an agreement could be reached in the near future, according to "Sport Bild".

Borussia Dortmund hope to keep Gregor Kobel for a long time, as the goalkeeper is keen to continue his career with the German club.

Gregor Kobel said: "I am very happy at Borussia Dortmund. I really enjoy playing for this club and in front of its fans, and of course I can imagine myself playing here for a very long time."

The Swiss goalkeeper praised coach Niko Kovač, stating: "He has established a clear structure and culture here, which are the foundation of our success. Within the team, there are many different cultures and languages, so a common ground and unified path must be found, and Niko has certainly succeeded in achieving that."
