Xabi Alonso pushes Chelsea to sign Fermín López

Spanish star Fermín López, midfielder for FC Barcelona, has emerged as a strong target for Chelsea, with manager Xabi Alonso keen to bolster his squad with the Spanish player.

According to "El Nacional", Alonso is urging Chelsea's management to act to secure the deal, with a potential financial offer exceeding £100 million for Fermín López.

In contrast, FC Barcelona are holding on to 23-year-old player Fermín López and do not wish to open the door to his departure, while the Catalan club will not consider negotiating his sale for less than £100 million.

Fermín López has a long-term contract with FC Barcelona until 2031, giving the club a strong position against any attempts from Chelsea to sign him.

It is not only FC Barcelona's position that matters, as Fermín López himself wishes to remain at the "Camp Nou", which could make Chelsea's task of finalizing the deal more difficult despite their readiness to present a huge financial offer.
