Igor Paixão opens the door to leaving Marseille and reveals his dream
Brazilian Igor Paixão, winger for French club Marseille, has opened the door to the possibility of leaving his club in the near future, after speaking candidly about his future and dreams, following a summer transfer window that saw significant interest in his services.
Baysao, 26, was close to leaving Marseille during the summer transfer window, amid interest from clubs in England and Italy, but ultimately decided to stay with the team, despite the speculation surrounding his future.
The player stated in an interview with a Brazilian media outlet: "This transfer window was a bit difficult; the club put everyone up for sale. I didn't really want to leave, and I still don't want to leave. I also chose to stay to help my team, as we were unable to sign players, and there was no player to take my place."
Despite confirming his desire to stay, Paiksaow admitted that playing in the Premier League represents a dream for him, saying: "One of my dreams is also to play in the Premier League. We will have a good season so that other clubs can come next time, and we can take a bigger step. Of course, it has to be good for me and for the club."
The Brazilian winger revealed that there have been talks between his representatives and Flamengo and Palmeiras, stating: "There are discussions with my agents regarding Flamengo and Palmeiras, but it's just speculation. No official offer has arrived, and I believe that when the right time comes, it will happen."
Baiksaow has not hidden his desire to return one day to Flamengo, which holds a special place for him, as he said: "I dream of playing with Flamengo. If God wills, I will one day wear the Flamengo shirt and achieve my childhood dream and my family's dream as well." Marseille signed the player in 2025 from Feyenoord for €30 million.
