Santiago Bernabéu nears a month without matches for Real Madrid
Real Madrid are set to return to action at the Santiago Bernabéu on October 10, hosting Villarreal in LaLiga after a 27-day absence from their home ground.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", Real Madrid's last match at the Bernabéu was against Rayo Vallecano on September 12. Since then, the team has played two away matches against Elche and Atlético Madrid, before the international break began.
The international break began after the Madrid derby on September 20 and will last until October 6, but Real Madrid will not return to action until October 10, when they face Villarreal at the Bernabéu at 10 PM.
Thus, Real Madrid fans will not see their team at home for 27 days between matches against Rayo Vallecano and Villarreal, a period close to a full month.
This will not be the last time this season, as Mundo Deportivo indicated that the situation will repeat itself in November, when Real Madrid will not play another match at home until the weekend of November 21 or 22 against Celta Vigo.
