Pau Cubarsí and Carlos Espí left out of Czech Republic clash by coaching decision
Luis de la Fuente, the head coach of the Spain national team, has decided to exclude Pau Cubarsí from the squad for the match against the Czech Republic this Saturday evening in the UEFA Nations League, in a move aimed at giving the FC Barcelona defender a rest.
According to "Mundo Deportivo", Pau Cubarsí's absence is not related to any injury or physical issue, but rather a decision made by the coaching staff after he played the full 90 minutes in the previous two matches against England at Wembley and Croatia in Sevilla.
Barcelona defender has played a total of 180 minutes over the two matches, which is why De la Fuente preferred to rest him and not take the risk of including him against the Czech Republic, ensuring he is ready for the upcoming clash against Croatia.
Spain will meet Croatia next Tuesday in the city of Split, where the data suggests that Pau Cubarsí will be available to participate in the match after receiving some rest.
The coach has decided to exclude Carlos Espí from Spain's squad to face the Czech Republic, as the Real Madrid forward arrived in Oviedo around midnight and will not participate in the match against the Czech Republic due to unfitness. However, he may get his chance during the next match against Croatia.
Fran García has joined the national team camp to replace Alejandro Grimaldo, while RCD Espanyol Barcelona player Roberto Fernández, who missed the first two matches, has been given the chance to make his debut with the Spanish national team.
