Torres leaves Spain camp and Carlos Espí called up
The Spanish Football Federation has announced the exclusion of Ferran Torres from the senior national team squad after he suffered an injury to his left ankle, confirming his absence from the upcoming matches in the UEFA Nations League.
The coaching staff of the Spain national team have decided to call up young forward Carlos Espí to replace Ferran Torres, after he delivered impressive performances recently with the Spain Under-21 team.
Carlos Espí has been part of the Spain U21 national team and has stood out in recent matches, which has given him the opportunity to join the senior national team, as the coaching staff seeks to bolster the attacking line ahead of the upcoming two matches.
Spain are set to play two matches in the third and fourth rounds of the UEFA Nations League, facing the Czech Republic on October 3, before meeting Croatia on October 6.
The coaching staff hopes that Carlos Espí can provide the necessary contribution during the international break, having received another opportunity to prove himself at the senior national team level after his impressive performances with the Under-21 team.
