Officially: Lionel Messi buys Spanish club Eldense
Spanish club Eldense has officially announced today, Thursday, that Argentine Lionel Messi has acquired ownership of the club in a historic deal that opens the door to a new phase in the journey of the team, which was founded in 1921.
The club confirmed that Messi's entry into the ownership structure marks the beginning of a new project based on a 'long-term vision', aimed at developing the club on sporting, institutional, and social levels, while enhancing its presence in Spanish football.
Eldense explained that the new project aims to "establish the club's position and grow in professional football", while simultaneously preserving the team's identity, history, roots, and the feelings of its fans towards its blue and red colors.
The deal awaits approval from the Higher Sports Council.
Despite the official announcement of Messi's takeover of the club, the completion of the process is still dependent on obtaining the necessary approval from the Spanish Sports Council (CSD), in accordance with the provisions of the Sports Law in Spain.
Consequently, Lionel Messi has become the announced owner of Eldense, but the finalization of the deal remains contingent on completing legal procedures and obtaining approval from the relevant authorities.
