Ketara: Ready to face Al Ahly and defeat them

Joshua Atugonza, the executive director of Ugandan Kitara, has confirmed that his team is ready and prepared to face Al Ahly FC in the CAF Confederation Cup and aims to inflict a defeat on them.

Kyetara FC will face Al Ahly FC on October 17 at the Huima Stadium in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Joshua Atugonza stated in remarks reported by the NBS Ugandan network: "Our biggest achievement has been winning the 50th edition of the Uganda Cup and representing the country in the CAF Confederation Cup. The conditions were not ideal at that time due to the infrastructure, but the story is different this time."

He added: "We are proud, and we thank even the government that has at least managed to work on developing the infrastructure, to return to playing matches on our pitches."

He continued: "Now, the matches that are being held just two kilometers away from the club's headquarters, this is a very big achievement, and it may be one of the reasons that made us play better against Mogadishu City in the first preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup."

He added: "Now, we are heading to the second stage of the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers, where we face the team that is said to be the most successful. I would like to say and confirm that we are ready for it."

Joshua Atugonza concluded his statements by saying: "Football is a game played between 11 players against 11 players, and I assure you that we are ready to face him and defeat him; even if you bring Barcelona, we will be ready."
