Getafe target signing Riyad Mahrez and Karim Benzema

Getafe have surprised with their transfer market moves, as they have placed Algerian star Riyad Mahrez and French player Karim Benzema, who has Algerian roots, on their list of interests in preparation for the possibility of signing one of them during the upcoming winter transfer window.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS", Getafe's management has taken advantage of the current international break to study a range of options available in the transfer market, in search of bolstering their attacking line with players who possess the necessary experience and technical abilities to make an impact during the second half of the season.

The Spanish club's management is looking to act early in the transfer market, especially given the circumstances the team is facing, along with some of its players being affected by injuries and absences during the international break. This has prompted them to consider several prominent names to strengthen the squad.

Despite Riyad Mahrez and Karim Benzema being on Getafe's radar, the possibility of completing either transfer remains tied to several factors, most notably the current positions of the two clubs regarding the players, as well as financial demands and transfer conditions.

Getafe are expected to clarify their transfer movements in the upcoming period as they await the outcome of potential negotiations to sign one of the stars during the winter transfer window.
