Hossam Ghaly defends Hossam Hassan in El Shenawy crisis

Hossam Ghaly, a former board member of Al Ahly FC, has defended Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, following the latter's controversial remarks about Mohamed El Shenawy, the goalkeeper of Al Ahly FC.

Ghali stated in remarks via "On Sport" that the national team coach made a mistake when using the word "finished" in reference to the goalkeeper, but he emphasized that he does not believe Hossam Hassan intended the offensive meaning of the word, noting that he does not always choose the appropriate words in his statements.

Galey criticized the way the crisis surrounding Mohamed Salah and his absence was handled, considering that the discussion has moved away from the technical side and turned into a settling of personal scores with Hossam Hassan.

Galey explained that there were parties that had previously harbored negative positions towards Hossam Hassan, and they seized this crisis as an opportunity to direct arrows at him. He pointed out that the achievements the coach made with the Pharaohs in the World Cup did not receive the recognition and appreciation they deserved following his recent statements.

He also emphasized the immense pressures and the systematic campaign faced by the national team coach, advising him to exercise caution and intelligence in dealing with media platforms, and to choose his words carefully to avoid giving his detractors any opportunity to launch new attacks against him.
