Fred Malouli submits his resignation to ES Setif management

ES Setif's management has placed the official resignation request submitted by Fred Malouli, the club's sporting director, on the board's table today, following hours of debate surrounding his future within the 'Black Eagle'.

Malouli's resignation confirms reports that emerged after ES Setif's emphatic 5-1 victory over CS Constantine in the third round of the professional league, which spoke of the sporting director's intention to leave his position.

ES Setif's management has confirmed in an official statement that the resignation request will be submitted to the board for consideration and to review the various related factors before making a final decision in accordance with the applicable procedures and regulations.

This development comes less than 24 hours after the club's management denied reports of Malouli's resignation, before the latter officially submitted his request to terminate his duties.

Malouli has faced criticism since last summer's transfer window due to his failure to bring in big names to the team, with the intensity of the criticism escalating as the season began and the results achieved by ES Setif.

ES Setif started their campaign with a surprising defeat at home against NA Hussein Dey, followed by another loss in the second round against CR Belouizdad. However, they then made a strong comeback in the third round with a resounding victory over CS Constantine, winning five goals to one.

ES Setif's board of directors is expected to finalize its position on Fred Malouli's resignation request in the upcoming period, after reviewing the file and considering various factors related to his future with the club.
