Casadó undergoes emergency surgery after collarbone fracture

The severity of Marc Casadó's injury has been confirmed after he underwent emergency surgery following a break to his right collarbone during his team's last match.

Antonio Hidalgo, coach of Deportivo La Coruña, has warned after the match about the seriousness of the injury, saying: "He must undergo tests and we will see how serious the injury is, but the truth is that it does not look good."

Deportivo La Coruña announced today, Monday, September 21, that Marc Casadó has undergone surgery at HM Modelo Hospital in La Coruña, under the supervision of orthopedic surgeon Rafael Arias, after suffering a fracture to his right collarbone.

Real Betis has stated that Marc Casadó's recovery will determine his return to competition, without disclosing a specific duration for his absence.

Marc Casadó fell in the 32nd minute after a clash with Real Betis forward Pablo Fornals, following a misplaced pass from Deportivo La Coruña goalkeeper Leo Román, before leaving the pitch due to injury.

Casadó told the doctors as he headed to the sidelines for treatment before being substituted for his teammate Diego Viares: "I've broken it."

On the positive side, Casadó's injury occurred before the international break, which will last more than two weeks this time, meaning he will miss only two matches.
