Botafogo coach praises Ziyech: 'He gives us technical quality and creative freedom'

Despite Botafogo's defeat to Mirassol by two goals to nil in the Brazilian league, coach Tetê praised the technical abilities of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, confirming that his individual skills prompted him to change his plan regarding the timing of his participation.

Tetê explained during the press conference that followed the match that he had initially planned to give Hakim Ziyech limited minutes, but he changed his mind during the break because of the player's technical quality and the team's need for his services.

Botafogo's coach said: "Ziyech gives you individual technical quality. In fact, I brought forward his participation, as he was supposed to play 30 minutes, or 20 minutes, or 15 minutes."

He added: "I said no, given his quality and the team's need, I decided during the break to put him on the pitch, considering the quality the player showed."

Tetê highlighted the versatility of Hakim Ziyech on the pitch, explaining: "Ziyech can play as a winger or as a midfielder, or in the number 10 position, with creative freedom."
