Sami Al-Trabelsi: We achieved the most important thing, which is the three points, and the future will be better for us

Sami Al-Trabelsi, the coach of Al-Shorta, expressed his happiness at achieving a 2-0 victory over Al-Kahrabaa, confirming that his team achieved the most important thing, which is the three points, despite the difficulty of the match.

"It was not an easy match at all, we faced a very well-organized team defensively, Al-Kahrabaa stood firm and closed down the spaces, and they were solid in the first half. We knew they would play this way, so we tried to vary our attacks."

He added: "In the first half, we had the advantage and controlled the ball, but the final touch was missing until Ahmed Yahya's goal came at a very perfect time just before the end of the half, and that goal made things much easier for us in the second half."

The Tunisian coach stated: "The second half was a replica of the first, we tried to kill the game early but we missed chances, and I was worried that we would concede a goal at any moment, but thank God Abdullah Basim scored the second goal in the 91st minute and finished everything. This victory is very important to raise our tally to 15 points and climb to fifth place, we will build on it for the upcoming matches."

He added: "I thank the players for their tactical commitment, and I thank the Al-Shorta fans who did not stop cheering despite the delay of the second goal; this is the real Al-Shorta that we want."

Al-Shorta player Murtadha Hassan expressed his happiness at the victory, saying:

"Thank God for the win, we deserved the three points thoroughly, we played a good match and were the better side from start to finish. Al-Kahraba defended well but we were patient and knew how to score at the important times."

He added: "Ahmad Yahya's goal at the end of the first half opened the match for us, and in the second half we kept our composure despite missing chances, and we succeeded in adding the second goal through Abdullah Basim. These victories are very important for regaining confidence and returning to the competition for the top spot."
