Algeria trio shines in Europe and sends strong messages ahead of November camp
Several players from the Algeria national team shone during European league matches on Friday and Saturday, delivering impressive performances with their clubs. This comes ahead of the upcoming international camp in the second week of November 2026, in preparation for the continuation of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification 2027.
Ibrahim Maza, the Bayer 04 Leverkusen playmaker, Mohamed Amin Amoura, the Nice striker, and Amin Chiakha, the Rosenborg player, were the standout performers, having scored four goals during their teams' matches, in a display that could enhance their chances ahead of the clashes against Togo in the third and fourth rounds of Africa Cup of Nations Qualification.
Mohamed Amin Amoura has started the Algerian brilliance series, contributing to Nice's victory over Rennes with a score of 5-2 during the match that took place on Friday evening in Ligue 1, by scoring one of his team's five goals.
Ibrahim Maza continues to confirm his outstanding levels with Bayer 04 Leverkusen, having scored a goal during the match against Stuttgart, which ended in a 4-2 victory for the latter in the Bundesliga. This comes just days after he secured ninth place in the ranking for the Ballon d'Or for Best Young Player in the World for 2026.
Amin Chiakha was the standout scorer, netting two goals in Rosenborg's victory over Fredrikstad on Saturday, in the 25th round of the Norwegian league.
Amin Chiakha started the match and opened the scoring for his team in the 45th minute, before his teammate Bomeholt added the second goal in the 67th minute. The Algerian striker then completed the hat-trick with a penalty in the 93rd minute.
Amin Chiakha was awarded the Man of the Match with a rating of 8.4 out of 10, bringing his tally this season to 17 goals and 4 assists in 24 matches, continuing to lead the scoring chart in the Norwegian league.
These performances come ahead of the upcoming challenge for the Algerian national team, which has garnered 4 points during the first two rounds of Group 9 in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification 2027. They are preparing to face Togo away in Lomé and at home in Algeria, as part of the third and fourth rounds.
