Request for Hiran Ahmad and Dlawar's inclusion in Iraq's final squad for Gulf 27 rejected

The Gulf Football Federation has submitted a request from the Iraqi Football Association to add Al Zawraa players Hiran Ahmed and Mohammed Dilawar to the Iraqi national team for the Gulf Cup 27, scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia.

The Gulf Union justified its refusal by stating that the players were not included in the expanded preliminary list sent by the Iraq national team before the registration period, and therefore they cannot be added outside the approved regulations.

The absence of the duo has been officially confirmed for the final squad participating in the tournament, representing a technical blow to the coaching staff led by Australian Graham Arnold.

The Gulf Federation clarified in its response that the tournament regulations state that any player participating in the finals must have their name included in the preliminary list of a maximum of 50 players.

As Hiran Ahmed and Mohamed Dlawar were not part of the submitted list, Iraq's request is deemed outside the regulations, and no exceptions can be made for any national team.

This decision completely closes the door on the possibility of players participating in the current edition of the tournament.

The rejection comes at a time when the two players are delivering outstanding performances as the current season of the Iraq Stars League kicks off.
