Elias Mokwana has caught the attention of Wydad Casablanca, as the club's management expressed their desire to sign him during the remainder of the current summer transfer window.

According to African media reports, Wydad Casablanca officials are studying the possibility of signing the player, taking advantage of his contractual situation after mutually terminating his contract with Esperance Tunis, which could facilitate his transfer to the red team.

Elias Mokwana is 27 years old and joined Esperance Tunis in the summer of 2024 from Sekhukhune United in South Africa, on a contract that extends until June 2027. After his first season in Tunisia, he had a loan spell with Al Hazem in Saudi Arabia during the 2025-2026 season.

The player participated in 24 matches in the Saudi league while with Al Hazm, scoring one goal and providing two assists before returning to Esperance Tunis after the loan ended. However, he has fallen out of the plans of the new coach, Laurentiu Reghecampf.

In light of this situation, Elias Mokwana and Esperance Tunis have reached an agreement to end their contractual relationship, despite one additional season remaining on the player's contract. Should he complete his transfer to Wydad Casablanca, he will become the third player from South Africa to wear the team's jersey, following Thimbenkhosi Lorch and Cassius Mailula.

The deal for Elias Mokwana is still in the interest and negotiation stage, while Wydad Casablanca's management continues its efforts to strengthen the squad before the transfer window closes, especially after the departure of several players in recent times.
