ES Zarzis qualify for the second round of the Confederation Cup

ES Zarzis secured their place in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup, despite losing to their hosts, Diambars, by a goal to nil in the return leg played on Saturday evening at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar.

The Senegalese team scored the only goal of the match through Liss Mendy from a penalty in the 40th minute, allowing Diambars to win at home, but it was not enough to overturn the result of the first leg.

ES Zarzis had secured the first leg match held in Tunisia in their favor with a score of 3-1, ensuring their progression to the next round after prevailing in the two-legged tie with an aggregate score of 3-2.

ES Zarzis will face Malian side Real Bamako in the final qualifying round, with a spot in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup at stake.
