Ajax moves to secure Abdellah Ouazane's contract and block top European clubs

Ajax have moved early to protect their rising Moroccan talent Abdellah Ouazane, as the player has established himself as one of the most promising names within the Dutch club, amid increasing interest from major European clubs.

The 17-year-old Moroccan player is currently under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2028, after signing the agreement in August 2025, following a failed transfer to Real Madrid.

Abdellah Ouazane has seen his status change at Ajax in a short period, having moved from the youth teams to the ranks of Young Ajax, before also getting the chance to appear with the first team, confirming that his development project is no longer postponed, but is beginning to turn into reality on the pitch.

Abdellah Ouazane has previously spoken about his wish to play at the Johan Cruyff Arena, indicating that he is first looking to prove himself with the reserve team while waiting for his chance with the first team.

Abdellah Ouazane's experience with Real Madrid has increased his value in the European talent market, after he was close to transferring to the Spanish club during the summer of 2025, before the deal was halted following medical examinations, leading him to return to Ajax and sign his professional contract.

It seems that the Dutch club does not want to repeat the scenario of losing one of their top academy graduates, so they are seeking to extend the player's contract until 2030, closing the door early on big clubs that may move to sign him in the coming years.
