Terzić: We will enjoy having Nico Williams with us for many years
Edin Terzić, the coach of Athletic Bilbao, has expressed his confidence in Nico Williams' continued presence with the team for years to come. This statement comes in response to remarks made by the player's agent, who revealed two previous attempts by the Spanish winger to transfer to FC Barcelona during two summer transfer windows.
Terzić said at the press conference before the match against Valencia, scheduled for Saturday in LaLiga: "Since I arrived here, I am happy to have Nico Williams in my team, and everyone loves having him in the dressing room. His best representative is his brother Iñaki."
The German coach, in response to a question about the player's need for more calm away from media pressures, said: "If I say something, the fuss will increase. We love to focus on football, and I enjoy having Nico Williams here every day, and I am sure we will enjoy him for many years to come."
Edin Terzić discussed the injury situation, confirming that Aymeric Laporte is ready after returning to team training, while the coaching staff hopes to increase the training load for Nico Williams next week in preparation for his return to matches. He also described the Mestalla Stadium, which hosts the match against Valencia, as "iconic," noting the difficulty of the upcoming phase due to the pressure of matches and the postponement of several of his team's fixtures.
