Ittihad beat Al Faisaly with three goals to top Saudi Pro League

Al-Ittihad secured a 3-1 victory over Al-Faisaly on Friday evening in the 7th round of the Saudi Pro League, moving to the top of the table with 17 points.

Al Faisaly's tally remains at 3 points, sitting in 17th place in the Saudi Pro League after failing to maintain their lead against Al Ittihad's attacking pressure.

Al-Ittihad started the match with clear pressure, and Steven Bergwijn nearly opened the scoring in the 6th minute, firing a right-footed shot from outside the penalty area after a pass from Faris Abdi.

Ittihad made a new attempt in the 18th minute, when Youssef En-Nesyri received a pass from Steven Bergwijn and shot with his left foot from the left side of the penalty area, but Al-Faisaly's defense intervened and cleared the ball.

Al-Faisaly missed two consecutive chances in the 23rd and 24th minutes, as Abdul Rehman shot wide of the goal before Christian Bassogog's attempt went just over the crossbar.

Steven Bergwijn opened the scoring for Al-Ittihad in the 28th minute, after receiving the ball outside the penalty area and shooting with his right foot, giving his team the advantage before the end of the first half.

Ittihad continued to threaten Al Faisaly's goal at the start of the second half, and Youssef En-Nesyri scored the second goal for Ittihad in the 43rd minute with a shot from very close range.

Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri attempted again in the 50th minute, firing a left-footed shot from outside the penalty area, but Al-Faisaly's defense successfully intercepted it once more, halting the threat.

Youssef En-Nesyri was determined to score, and he succeeded in the 58th minute by adding the third goal for Al-Ittihad with a left-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area, further enhancing his team's dominance.

Théo Bongonda reduced the deficit for Al-Faisaly in the 87th minute, unleashing a powerful left-footed shot from outside the penalty area, but the goal did not change the outcome of the match.

With this victory, Al-Ittihad has moved to 17 points, taking sole possession of the top spot in the Saudi Pro League, while Al-Faisaly remains at 3 points in 17th place.
