Amorim before Lazio: We lacked energy against Juventus and Ramos is not the problem

Milan's head coach, Ruben Amorim, has emphasized the need for a strong reaction from his team against Lazio after suffering a dip in energy and aggression during their loss to Juventus. He stressed that recent training sessions have focused on correcting the mistakes that emerged in the last match, particularly in the final third of the pitch.

Rúben Amorim spoke about facing SS Lazio: "We will face a fast and aggressive team that has a very clear identity. They have signed Davide Frattesi brilliantly, and they have two very good wingers and a new striker. They started the league with three wins and are in a confident state," also praising Gennaro Gattuso, whom he described as a legend and an important figure for AC Milan, emphasizing that his passion and aggression represent an important model.

The Portuguese coach spoke about Juventus' loss, saying: "We lacked a lot of energy against Juventus, and we were not good in the last 30 meters during the first half. I showed the players some clips to make it clear that many of Juventus' chances came as a result of our mistakes," stressing that the team needs to improve its focus when losing the ball.

Amorim refused to place the blame for the team's decline on Gonçalo Ramos, explaining: "We did not play well as a team, so it is difficult to analyze the performance of one player. When the ball reached Gonçalo, there was not a good connection with his teammates, and we need to work better as a team. He played well against Venezia and Torino, and we know he is capable of delivering great performances."

Amorim defended Luka Modrić against criticism, stating that the Croatian star gives AC Milan greater control over the game's tempo, even though he cannot press all the time. He also pointed out the importance of Christian Pulisic, who feels frustrated for not getting minutes so far, emphasizing that he is an important player and will have many opportunities in the upcoming period.

While he emphasized at the end of his talk that Milan needs time to build a team capable of achieving victories consistently, he stated that the best way to gain this time is by winning against Lazio.
