Araujo shines with Liverpool, putting Barcelona in a tough spot

Ronald Araujo continues to turn heads since his move to Liverpool, delivering one of his best performances in a Reds shirt during the victory over Atlético Madrid by a score of 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League, confirming that his transfer to the English side could be a significant turning point in his career.

Ronald Araujo, who started for the second consecutive match as a right-back, was one of the standout stars for Liverpool against Atlético Madrid, as he created the equalising goal in an extraordinary manner, delivering a back-heeled pass inside the penalty area that reached Dominik Szoboszlai, who tucked it into the net.

This is not a position I am unfamiliar with, the right-back position. In the end, I have played there many times, and the coach knows I can help the team anywhere. I am always ready to help the team. My adaptation is going very well. My family and I are very happy."

Araujo added: "I think I have made this mental shift before, on a personal level. Of course, change is always good, and I have moved to a big club, one as big as FC Barcelona itself, with a lot of demands as well. I enjoy playing, and then the results of the work will show."

The Uruguayan defender discussed his exit from FC Barcelona, confirming that the relationship between him and the Catalan club is still good. He said: "Leaving FC Barcelona was very good. It was something we talked about with the club and the coach, and the truth is that I have a great love for FC Barcelona. I am grateful for everything, because the player I am today owes a large part of it to them. We have a beautiful relationship and I hold them in high regard."

Ronald Araujo has joined Liverpool on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy worth €55 million.
