Wolverhampton sign Bertrand Traoré on a one-year deal

Wolverhampton Wanderers have officially signed Burkina Faso winger Bertrand Traoré on a one-year deal.

Traoré, aged 31, has extensive experience in the Premier League, alongside stints in several top European leagues. He left Sunderland last spring after making 12 appearances for the team during his first season back in the Premier League, contributing to the club's qualification for European competitions.

Traoré has previously played for Chelsea, Aston Villa, Lyon, Ajax, as well as İstanbul Başakşehir and Villarreal. He also scored 10 goals during 49 matches in his last spell with Ajax.

The Burkinabé winger will work under coach Cézar Piksoto, who confirmed that signing him was to provide an additional option in the right-wing position, praising his speed, dribbling ability, and capacity to create and score goals.

Piksoto said: "He is a good player to improve the team and give us an additional option. He has the characteristics I want in this position; he is good in one-on-one situations, strong, left-footed, and capable of scoring and creating goals, as well as being quick to attack spaces."

Traoré joins Wolverhampton with the aim of assisting the team in their competition to return to the Premier League, after the team was relegated to the EFL Championship.
