Taha Majni makes history with move from Tawraka to Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace have signed young Moroccan Taha Majni from Ittihad Touarga, marking a historic move as he becomes the first player to transfer directly from Botola Pro to a club in the Premier League.
Taha Majni is 18 years old and has progressed through the various age categories of the Union Touarga before making his first appearance with the first team in June 2025, when he participated in the victory over Wydad Fes in the semi-finals of the Excellence Cup.
The player is known for his ability to play in multiple positions in the backline, excelling as a right-back and centre-back. He has participated in 17 matches with the first team so far, including 15 appearances during last season, starting 13 of those in the starting lineup.
Taha Majni was one of the players in the Moroccan U20 national team that achieved a historic feat by winning the FIFA World Cup in Chile last year, contributing to Morocco's first-ever global title.
At just 17 years old, Majni was part of the squad that achieved victories over Brazil, Spain, France, and Argentina, before continuing his international career by joining the Morocco U23 national team.
The player participated in two international matches with the Olympic team last March, including a game against Ivory Coast that ended in a 2-2 draw.
