French forward Jean-Philippe Mateta's future has been decided as he is set to leave Crystal Palace in 2027. This development opens the door for Manchester United to move for him during the upcoming transfer period.

TEAMtalk revealed last September that Manchester United are aiming to sign a new striker during the winter transfer window, with Mateta among the options, especially as the club is looking for a forward with experience in the Premier League.

According to "Avs Futebol Insider", Mateta will depart Crystal Palace, with his contract ending at the season's conclusion and no intention to renew it. The question remains about when he will leave, either in January for a transfer fee or after the season ends for free.

Mateta was close to leaving Crystal Palace last January after agreeing to a move to Milan, but the deal collapsed following a medical examination. Information suggests that there is interest from several clubs in signing him.

TEAMtalk has learned that Manchester United are interested in acquiring Mateta during January, coinciding with the possibility of Joshua Zirkzee's departure, while the French striker is admired by Jason Wilcox, the club's director.

Mateta has scored 42 goals in the Premier League over the last three seasons, and Manchester United sees him as having similar attributes to Benjamin Šeško, but with greater experience in the competition.
