Wydad Casablanca supports Ayoub El Kaabi with heartfelt message after serious injury
Wydad Casablanca has sent a message of support to former striker Ayoub El Kaabi following his serious injury during Olympiacos' match against Volos on Saturday, in the third round of Super League Greece.
Moroccan striker Ayoub El Kaabi has suffered a fracture in his left leg and fibula, which required him to undergo surgery today, Sunday, that was successful.
Wydad Casablanca has shown support for their former player, through a message posted on their official accounts, saying: "Get well soon, Ayoub. There are injuries that hurt the body, and others that hurt the heart, and your injury has pained us all."
The club added in its message: "From Wydad Casablanca, and from every Wydadi who holds you in love and esteem, we wish you a speedy recovery, strength, and patience during this difficult time."
Wydad Casablanca stated: "We know you will face this challenge with the same spirit we have always known you for, and with the same heart that knows no surrender. All Wydadi hearts are with you, and all their prayers accompany you on your journey back."
Ayoub El Kaabi's injury comes at a time when he was continuing to impress with Olympiacos, but the injury will now keep him out of action for a long time, placing him in a new phase of treatment and rehabilitation.
According to media reports, the Moroccan striker is expected to be absent for around seven months, pending the completion of his treatment and rehabilitation program before gradually returning to competitive action.
