Wydad raises offer to bring back Guy Mbenza from China
Wydad are intensifying their efforts to secure the return of Congolese international Guy Mbenza during the current summer transfer window, after attempts to mutually terminate his contract with his Chinese club Liaoning Tieren were met with the latter's refusal to release the player without financial compensation.
Chinese club management has informed Guy Mbenza and his agent to look for a team willing to buy his contract, prompting Wydad officials to rearrange their plans and shift from waiting for the contract to be terminated to opening direct negotiations with Liaoning Tiren's management.
According to African media reports, the red team has made an initial offer of $150,000 to purchase the contract of Congolese striker Guy Mbenza. However, the proposal was not approved by the Chinese club, which insisted on receiving a financial compensation for relinquishing the player's services.
Wydad Casablanca's efforts did not stop there, as the same data revealed that the club's management raised the value of the offer to $200,000, which is approximately 200 million cents, in a new attempt to pave the way for Guy Mbenza's return to Casablanca.
