Manchester United discussed signing Tagliafico before transfer window closed

Manchester United have discussed the possibility of signing Argentine Nicolás Tagliafico before the summer transfer window closes, as the team needs to strengthen the full-back position.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the name of Tagliafico was discussed within Manchester United before the transfer deadline, but the club ultimately decided not to proceed with the deal.

Romano reports that Juventus and Atlético also attempted to sign the player, but time was not sufficient to complete the deal, noting that Tagliafico was among Manchester United's options before the club decided to halt negotiations.

Manchester United are also interested in signing Lewis Hall from Newcastle to strengthen their left-back position, while the team still needs more options in the defensive line.
