The Ghana Football Association has officially announced the return of Portuguese Carlos Queiroz as head coach of the Ghana national team, just weeks after his previous stint ended following the team's participation in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Carlos Queiroz had taken over as Ghana's head coach on a short-term contract in preparation for the FIFA World Cup, leading the Black Stars to the Round of 32 before being eliminated by Colombia. His contract ended after the tournament, and he will temporarily step away from the national team.

According to the Ghanaian Football Association, Carlos Queiroz will begin his new role during the upcoming international break, focusing on leading the national team in the next stage of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification for 2027, leveraging his extensive international experience and knowledge of Ghanaian football.

The return of the Portuguese coach comes after negotiations that stalled last August, before both parties reached a new agreement to bring Queiroz back to lead the national team once again.
