Sofyan Amrabat Joins Ajax Amsterdam

Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat has reached a verbal agreement with Ajax Amsterdam, paving the way for his move to the Dutch club on a free transfer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano explained that both parties have reached an agreement on the contract terms, bringing Amrabat close to a return to the Dutch league, where he began his professional career before moving on to various experiences in Europe.

Ajax's move comes after Amrabat ended his association with Fenerbahce by mutual consent, making the Moroccan player free to negotiate with any club, which facilitated the Dutch club's efforts to finalize the deal.

Ajax is keenly interested in Sofyan Amrabat, with Jordi Cruyff being one of the main supporters of the idea to sign the Moroccan midfielder, due to his experience and abilities that could strengthen the team's midfield.

Sofyan Amrabat, aged 29, is preparing to open a new chapter in his football career with Ajax, following a spell at Fenerbahçe that did not last until the end of his contract.

The final procedures for the transfer are expected to be completed in the coming period, before Amrabat's move to Ajax becomes official, marking the Moroccan player's anticipated return to the Dutch leagues.
