Official: Barcelona Sells Jofre Torin to Ajax

Barcelona has completed an agreement with Ajax Amsterdam for the transfer of young Spanish full-back Jofre Torents to the Dutch club, in a deal worth around €6 million including fixed and variable components.

Under the agreement, Barcelona retained 50% of the player's future rights as part of the club's new policy to keep a share of the rights of talents leaving the La Masia academy, allowing them to benefit from any future transfer of the player.

Torrents, 19 years old, is expected to travel to Amsterdam in the coming hours to undergo medical examinations and finalize the signing of his contract with Ajax, marking his first professional experience outside Spain.

Torrents has progressed through Barcelona's academy since 2018 and made appearances with the first team. He participated in the current pre-season under Hans Flick but could not establish himself in the starting lineup, prompting both the club and the player to agree on a transfer.

Turrents will join Ajax to compete with Caio Henrique for the left-back spot, after the Dutch club signed the Brazilian for around €10 million, as Ajax bets on developing the young Barcelona talent in the coming years.
