Chelsea Loans Mamadou Sakho to Real Sociedad

Chelsea FC has announced the completion of the loan transfer of Senegalese defender Mamadou Sarr to Spanish side Real Sociedad for one season.

Malang Sarr joined Chelsea from Strasbourg last summer and has made 7 appearances for the team since his arrival, including a participation during the Blues' journey to winning the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Senegalese defender was a key player in the Africa Cup of Nations final, where his country faced Morocco. He is also part of Senegal's squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Chelsea is optimistic that the loan of Sar will grant him greater opportunities for participation and development with Real Sociedad in the upcoming season, while the English club will monitor his progress in Spain.
