Mamadou Sar Joins Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad has announced the signing of Senegalese defender Mamadou Sar on loan from Chelsea for one season. This move aims to provide the player with greater opportunities for participation and development at the first-team level.

The deal does not include an option to buy, meaning Sarr will return to Chelsea at the end of his loan period, confirming that the English club still considers the young defender part of their future plans.

Sar is 20 years old and plays as a center-back, also excelling in multiple positions across the backline. He joined Chelsea from Strasbourg, having previously experienced a loan spell with the French club.

His move to Real Sociedad came after the Moroccan Nayef Aguerd's transfer fell through due to fitness issues, making Sar the first defensive reinforcement for the Spanish team during the current transfer period. Coach Pellegrino Matarazzo hopes to leverage the Senegalese defender's abilities in the upcoming season.
