Barcelona has officially stated that the arrest of the fan was excessive and lacked proportionality. The club confirmed that they have offered their support to the fan and his family for any assistance they may need.

Barcelona has expressed its regret over the confiscation of Catalan independence flags from its supporters, emphasizing that this flag is a legal symbol and that raising it represents a legitimate exercise of freedom of expression. The club stated that it cannot be considered an incitement to hatred or violence in itself.

Barcelona has confirmed that it is awaiting the necessary clarifications regarding the incident, while reserving its right to take actions it deems appropriate to defend the safety, rights, and freedom of expression of its members and fans, whether at Spotify Camp Nou or at the stadiums of rival teams.
